兩個馬場在不同馬年都有不同




















  • 跑馬地馬場在1918年2月26日(即馬年農曆正月16日) 發生慘絕人寰的大火，燒死600多人;
  • 沙田馬場於1978年10月7日(即馬年農曆9月初6) 開張使用.

馬年對這兩個馬場有甚麼關係? 為何前者的慘劇發生在正月(應是恭喜發財月), 後者的喜事郤又發生在農曆9月(是陰陽月)?

大火當日，正是香港賽馬「週年大賽」的第二日。下午三時左右，正舉行第五場賽事，觀眾看得興高采烈。豈料期間因看臺棚架不勝負荷而突然倒塌，不少人遭壓死壓傷，而當時觀眾席下有不少熟食檔，遭到塌下的棚架打翻，煮食爐火把木棚燒著，引起火警，火勢隨易燃物料迅速蔓延，使場面更加混亂，不少人因走避不及而被燒死。事後，罹難者被悉數安葬在掃桿埔的咖啡園墳場內。這麼多陰魂葬在掃桿埔, 為何現在這一帶建了很多高尚住宅??
